The Strutt system

Simple parts.
Serious steel.

Everything Strutt makes is built from one idea: a steel bay that shares its posts with the bay next to it. Here is what goes into one, and everything you can add.

400–1,200mm bay width, set in 10 mm steps, every bay its own
250–600mm between shelves, set per shelf level
300–600mm deep, the same along the run
2,100mm posts in one piece; taller runs join on a hidden spigot
Close-up of a shared Strutt post where two bays meet, with runners and side channels bolted to it
Anatomy of a joint

Where two bays meet.

  1. 25 × 25 mm steel post, 1.5 mm wall, powder coated, drilled for your exact shelf heights.
  2. Folded steel runners front and back, 2 mm, with a lip that covers the shelf edge, so you only ever see steel.
  3. Side channels at each end of every shelf. On a shared post the two bays' tabs sit side by side, each with its own bolt.
  4. M6 bolts right through the post: button heads outside, dome nuts inside. No clips, no wobble.
  5. Shelves drop in and sit inside the steel frame; from 900 wide a hidden steel stiffener runs underneath.

Base baySHV-BASE

Base bay

The bay that stands on the floor: levelling feet, a bottom shelf 90 mm up and a shelf at your chosen height. Docks on either side of another base.

Shelf baySHV-BAY

Shelf bay

Stacks on a base or another shelf bay and takes its width. Each one its own height, 250 to 600 mm.

WorkbenchSHV-BENCH

Workbench

A base bay with a worktop at standing height (850–1,000 mm), a middle and a bottom shelf. Joins the run like any bay.

RiserSHV-RISER

Riser

Sits on the bench: the back posts carry on up to a 250 mm top shelf, with room for a panel, a bin rail and a light.

Drawer unitSHV-DRAWERS

Drawer unit

One to four folded-steel drawers on full-extension runners, sized to the shelf space it sits in.

CupboardSHV-CUPBOARD

Cupboard

One door up to 600 wide, a pair above; an inner shelf in the taller ones. Optional cam lock.

Plain backSHV-BACK

Plain back

A flat 1.5 mm steel back between the back posts, bay by bay.

Pegboard backSHV-BACK-PEG

Pegboard back

10 mm square slots at 38 mm, for standard pegboard hooks.

Perforated backSHV-BACK-PERF

Perforated back

A fine round perforation that lets air through and still hides the wall.

Grid mesh backSHV-BACK-GRID

Grid mesh back

2 mm laser-cut 40 mm grid: hang tools, baskets and hooks anywhere.

Bin railSHV-BINRAIL

Bin rail

A louvred rail on the riser with hook-on bins in five colours, as many as the width fits.

LED light barSHV-LED

LED light bar

Three warm spots under the riser shelf, lighting the worktop.
